Doctoral Candidate in Digital Infrastructures and Enterprise Integration

Digitalization or digital economy is a powerful megatrend that has wide societal effects. Evolving digital infrastructures (such as the smart grid, Google services, cloud platforms, Amazon, e-health, Internet of Things platforms, etc.) are intertwined to the everyday contexts of businesses and citizens. The digital infrastructures are often global and remote and therefore they cannot be controlled by their users. In addition, they are potentially volatile, change often and include also security risks. Managing their changes, risks and opportunities is very challenging for any local (i.e. Finnish) developer of products and services.

"DINE – Digital Infrastructures and Enterprise Integration" project focuses on enabling the development and use of digital infrastructures, possibly provided by global internet giants, as strategic assets. DINE experiments with Action Design Research to create different models and methods for strategic integration of digital infrastructures and develops and evaluates them in participating organizations. DINE is based on the findings in earlier Academy of Finland project ENACT that focused on enterprise integration. Now the purpose is to provide practical applications on external integration and its strategy.
